Broken Rock Band Pedals

This is of personal interest so I'll keep it short.

So the Rock Band pedals are essentially designed to break; the area where you put most of your pedal pressure is very thin and the whole thing is only simple plastic. You could buy some sort of metallic replacement pedal (the thing should be metal in the first place), but seeing as the whole thing's just simple plastic you might be better off just following this method.

No No No No NoNoNoNoNO!!

Some people felt that the whole Guitar Hero marketing bandwagon really started its trek to hell when the previous developer Harmonix moved on to loftier heights - mobile Guitar Hero, Nintendo DS Guitar Hero (with its share of gimmicks), Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, and 7-11 tie-ins. I'm able to separate the game from its marketing department, but this may push me over the edge to Rock Band territory:

To celebrate the fact that there will be two Guitar Hero performances on the main stage at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, Activision has re-branded the bronze statue of Hendrix that sits in the grounds of the island’s Dimbola Lodge, turning Jimi’s guitar into the aforementioned video game peripheral.

Geez - talk about new lows of taste.

Guitar Hero For Real

One of my XKCD forumites has alerted me to the realization of one of my half-baked ideas - a Guitar Hero-like game played with a real guitar, apparently interfaced with the game via USB. Naturally, this allows you complete freedom to use all of the notes up and down the fretboard. I had previously bandied the idea about in my mind, but the full reality of Guitar Rising surpasses any of my initial conceptions.

Finally

I realize that only some of you will realize the personal significance of this, so I'll just let the image speak for itself for those who are interested. Suffice it to say that I've been working on this for the better part of two weeks:
